Hidez uses a highly engineered polyurethane fabric wrapping process. The panels are cut and sewn to apply varying degrees of pressure to specific muscle groups: greatest at the extremities and easing gradually towards the heart, which is what makes the compression 'graduated' rather than uniform. That profile is designed to support the venous and lymphatic return an animal normally drives with its own movement — which is why the suits are used after exertion and during travel, when the animal is standing relatively still and that muscle pump is doing least.

Yes, transport is one of the most common uses. The steady, even pressure produces a swaddle-like effect that helps many animals settle, and it holds muscle firmly against the body through the vibration and constant rebalancing of a moving vehicle. It is a comfort aid rather than a sedative — the fabric does not act on the animal's nervous system the way a medication does.

Because our patented fabric is highly breathable and moisture-wicking, the suits can be worn for extended periods. For recovery post-event or during transport, 4 to 12 hours is typical. However, it's always recommended to monitor the animal, especially in extreme heat, though the fabric itself is designed to regulate temperature and maintain core body warmth.

Compression only works if the fit is incredibly precise. We provide detailed measuring instructions for both horses and dogs on our Sizing page. You will need a soft measuring tape and an assistant to take exact lengths and heights as specified. If your animal falls between sizes, please contact our support team before purchasing.

To protect the elastane fibers, Hidez suits should be machine washed on a gentle, cold cycle (30°C/86°F max) using a mild detergent without bleach or fabric softeners. Crucially, they must be air-dried in the shade. Never put a Hidez suit in the tumble dryer, as heat will permanently destroy the compression properties.

Our fabric is extremely durable, but accidents happen. Small snags or tears won't immediately unravel the entire matrix due to the warp-knit construction. Small holes can be carefully stitched closed with strong nylon thread. If a large tear occurs across a major compression seam, the suit's efficacy may be compromised.

We ship across Ireland and the United Kingdom with both standard and express options, fully tracked. In rare cases, delivery may take up to two weeks. For orders outside these areas, please contact us before ordering and we will advise the best option.

We offer a 14-day return window. Because these are close-fitting compression garments worn directly against the coat, we can only accept returns on suits that are completely unused, unsoiled, and in their original packaging. We highly recommend trying the suit on over a clean, thin sheet if you are unsure about the sizing, so the fabric never makes direct contact with the coat.
